Four-star power forward Royce Hamm ended his recruitment on Friday with a commitment to head coach Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns after also considering Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Baylor and Houston among others. Hamm, who announced his decision via his Twitter account, is ranked No. 82 in the ESPN 100.
Here's a look at what Hamm will bring to Austin.
Why he committed: Hamm built a trusting relationship with head coach Shaka Smart in addition to the fact that Austin is close to his home allowing family and friends to watch him play. Hamm also took numerous unofficial visits to Austin and was simply comfortable with the coaching staff, players and the positive direction in which the program is heading.
