Robert Upshaw is no longer a Wildcat

ESPNU 100 center Robert Upshaw (Fresno, Calif./San Joaquin Memorial H.S.) will not attend Kansas State following head coach Frank Martin's departure to South Carolina. Upshaw's mother, Ceylon Sherman, confirmed the news to ESPN's Sr. Recruiting Analyst Dave Telep on Wednesday.

According to Sherman, Upshaw will not consider Martin's Gamecocks. He will be overseas playing basketball from April 4-13 and will not make any decision at least until the end of the month.

Telep reported earlier this week that Upshaw did not sign a binding National Letter of Intent with Kansas State in November but rather scholarship papers which allow him to walk away freely and sign with another school.

"The family decided that with him going so far that would be the best thing for us to do," Sherman said.

Upshaw originally chose the Wildcats over Fresno State, Louisville and Georgetown.
