Lead guard Michael Orris (Crete, Ill./Crete-Monee H.S.) has decided to sign with Kansas State and new head coach Bruce Weber. The 6-foot-3 Orris originally inked with Weber at Illinois but was granted a release following the coach's firing in Champaign.
"It came down to his relationship with Bruce Weber, No. 1," his father, Bill Orris, told the Chicago Sun Times. "And, when he went on his visit (April 14 to Manhattan, Kan.) he absolutely loved the campus, and he really liked the guys on the team."
Pittsburgh and Marquette were some of the other programs that contacted Orris following his release. The 3-star prospect joins power forward Darrell Johnson (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North H.S.) as incoming Wildcats.
