LSU landed a verbal commitment from ESPN 100 power forward Jordan Mickey (Arlington, Texas/Prime Prep) on Thursday.
ESPN's National Recruiting Director Paul Biancardi breaks down this commitment for LSU.
"Jordan is one of the most productive and consistent players and power forwards in the nation," Biancardi offered. "He approaches the game with a business-like attitude and is especially tough rebounding at both ends and blocking shots.
"He scores the ball in an efficient manner with a jump hook and the ability to finish drop off passes by quickly dunking it. When it comes to facing the basket his jumpshot is clean from 15 feet and he can straight line drive it from the high post and short corner.
"This commitment for LSU is big becuase Mickey is the type of player who will be all-league in time and (head coach) Johnnie Jones needs this type of productive talent in order to get the Tigers back on top in the always competitive SEC."
The 6-foot-8 Mickey chose the Tigers over Ohio State, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and SMU. He joins junior college forward Deng Deng (Melbourne, Aus./Lee College) in LSU's 2013 class.
