Madison chose the Blazers over Tulane, UTEP, Murray State, Air Force and Samford.
"I really felt comfortable with coach [Jerod] Haase and coach [Richie] Riley and the other guys," he told the site. "I like the school and how they run things. I think it's a good fit."
"Since Haase landed the job, Madison's been a priority recruit," noted ESPN recruiting analyst Dave Telep. "They chased him the entire summer, prioritized him and waited until he finally gave them the nod. This is a kid with a bulldog attitude."
Madison is the fourth recruit for the Blazers in the 2013 class. Joining him in Birmingham will be point guard Dayshawn Watkins (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock), point guard Denzel Watts (Flint, Mich./Carman-Ainsworth) and power forward C.J. Washington (Augusta, Ga./Tallahassee C.C.).
