According to a report in the Washington Post, ESPN 100 point guard Roddy Peters (District Heights, Md./Suitland) has scheduled season-ending shoulder surgery for Dec. 21.
The Maryland signee scored 16 points in Suitland's season-opening loss to Wise on Wednesday night before taking to his Instagram account to say his senior campaign was over.
"Tonight was my last high school game," he wrote, according to the Post.
After reconsidering, he told the Post he will play in five more games before undergoin surgery.
"Just thinking about all my family who never got to see me play, and also my friends. I (never) want to stop playing basketball so I want to play until I can't anymore. I am mainly playing for Suitland school as a whole!
Peters dislocated the shoulder playing AAU basketball over the summer.
