6-foot point guard Xavier Talton (Sterling, Colo./Sterling H.S.) is expected to sign his letter of intent on Wednesday. He chose the Buffaloes over Wyoming.
"Xavier is a strong combo guard who is tough to stop off the dribble," according to ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Joel Francisco. "He gets in the lane and makes plays but will need to smoothen out his 3-point shot to keep defenses honest. But he can run a team due to his I.Q. and physical readiness to play at the D-I level.
"Colorado didn't get their main target (Tyrone Wallace, committed to California), but they snagged one of the better sleepers not only nationally but one out of their own backyard."
Talton joins a Colorado class ranked No. 21 on ESPN.com. The Buffaloes expect signatures from ESPNU 100 prospects Josh Scott (Monument, Colo./Lewis-Palmer H.S.) and Xavier Johnson(Temecula, Calif./Mater Dei H.S.) along with power forward Wesley Gordon (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sierra H.S.) and small forward Chris Jenkins (Detroit, Mich./Detroit Jesuit H.S.).
