#AskCoachB: Package deals trending?

Want to ask ESPN RecruitingNation national recruiting director Paul Biancardi a question about basketball recruiting? Tweet it to @PaulBiancardi using the hashtag #AskCoachB.

A really a forward thinking question that we all have to pay attention to in the near future.

Yes I believe so because today’s players have more access to each other than ever before. Besides travel teams another avenue is through USA basketball which now starts at the freshman and sophomore years. Now when elite players are together they not only hear the names of the best players in their class earlier they get to play on the floor together and bond off the court.

When you travel together on AAU circuit and have success on the floor , you begin to feel a chemistry that certainly sparks thoughts of playing together in the future. The more time players spend with each other away from the game the more it bonds the players.

When you look at Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow they played together in Lithuania and won a gold metal together. Being that far away from home forces you to spend quality time together .

One has to keep in mind that each player's recruiting process must fit into a school’s program and it must be ideal and a benefit for all of the players involved to go to the same place.

Jones and Okafor have had this plan for a long time, and we might see others copy this plan in future recruiting situations, especially if they bring success to a program.
