ESPNU 100 small forward Jarnell Stokes (Memphis, Tenn./Southwind) has been denied a hardship waiver by the TSSAA Board of Control and will not suit up for Southwind this season, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported on Monday.
Stokes left Memphis Central High last summer and was expected to enroll at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. However, he opted to stay in his hometown and play for Southwind but was ruled ineligible in August.
Stokes is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2012 class and is considering offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee and Connecticut.
