Pasadena, Calif. junior guard Jeremy Major (MaranathaH.S.) ended his recruitment on Wednesday with a verbal pledge to Pepperdine, the Pasadena Star News reported.
The 5-foot-10 Major cited his desire to remain in the Golden State as the main reason for his decision.
"Mainly for me I wanted to stay in California," he told the paper. "I didn't want to go away far. All my life I wanted to make sure I wasn't too far away from my mom so she can come to the games whenever she wanted."
Major, who is averaging 26.9 points per game this season, had an offer from Pacific and interest from USC.
