Greensboro lands Baltimore forward

On Sunday senior forward Kayel Locke (Baltimore/McDonough School) gave his verbal pledge to North Carolina Greensboro of the Southern Conference.

Locke told the Baltimore Sun his relationship with new head coach Wes Miller factored in to his decision.

"From the beginning, we had a really good relationship," he said. "I thought [the fact Miller is so young] was cool because he really related to me on a lot of subjects. I think having experience is also a great thing."

He chose Greensboro over Appalachian State, Central Connecticut State, Holy Cross, Monmouth and Tennessee Tech and will join fall signee Jordan Potts (Columbus, Ohio/Northland H.S.) in the Spartans' 2012 class.
