Wood back in fold for St. John's

One time St. John's recruit Darrick Wood (Washington, D.C./Bridgton Academy) decided to recommit to the Red Storm over the weekend, multiple sources are reporting.

Wood made his decision while visiting the Queens, N.Y. campus on Saturday. He originally chose the Johnnies last summer but did not sign in the fall and officially re-opening his recruitment in January.

Wood joins a class for head coach Steve Lavin that includes small forward Jakarr Sampson (Akron, Ohio/Brewster Academy), shooting guard Felix Balamou (Centereach, N.Y./Our Savior New American), power forward Orlando Sanchez (Bronx, N.Y./Monroe C.C.) and small forward Marco Bourgault (St. Malo, France/Monroe C.C.). Lavin will also welcome Texas A&M transfer Jamal Branch (Humble, Texas) in December.
