Gators land PF Schuyler Rimmer

Power forward Schuyler Rimmer (Orlando, Fla./Boone) made his college decision on Saturday night with a verbal commitment to Florida and head coach Billy Donovan, ESPN.com confirmed.

Rimmer, a 6-foot-9, three-star prospect, chose the Gators over Boston College, Georgia Tech, Miami, Penn State and South Florida, among others.

ESPN's National Recruiting Director Paul Biancardi watched Rimmer at the recent AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fla. and offered up an evaluation.

"He's improved his low post scoring, especially with his back to the basket and using his left hand. He's focused and intense and when he makes a move he's aggressive while not trying to do too much.

"Defensively, he plays by working to get to the right spot on the floor. Schulyer is a mobile big who works to move but isn't blessed with great speed or lateral quickness. He does a nice job contesting shots all the way to the arc and is alert on his closeouts."

Rimmer joins a UF class currently ranked No. 1 overall on ESPN.com and features ESPN 100 players Kasey Hill (Eustis, Fla./Montverde Academy) and Chris Walker (Bonifay, Fla./Holmes County).
