Wing opens up recruitment

The Louisville Courier-Journal reported on Friday that Oklahoma State commit Adam Wing (Morehead, Ky.) has re-opened his recruitment and will consider offers in football and basketball.

According to the C-J, Cowboys head coach Travis Ford met with Wing on Thursday and informed him that OSU had four verbal commitments but only three scholarships available. Ford then asked Wing to attend a prep school for a year before arriving in Stillwater.

The 6-foot-4 Wing is also a standout quarterback who had originally committed to Marshall for football. Rowan Co. High School basketball coach Shawn Thacker told the paper that Wing has "opened back up his recruitment for basketball and football."

The Cowboys currently hold pledges from shooting guard Marcus Smart (Flower Mound, Texas), power forward Kamari Murphy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and guard Phil Forte (Flower Mound, Texas.) in 2012.
