Miami head coach Jim Larranaga landed his second 2013 commitment on Friday with a pledge from shooting guard Davon Reed (Princeton, N.J./Princeton Day), ESPN.com has confirmed.
The 6-foot-5 Reed made his official visit to the U last weekend. He also held offers from Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Memphis and Xavier. He will join guard Deandre Burnett (Miami, Fla./Massanutten Military) in Miami in 2013.
ESPN.com's national recruiting director breaks down this commitment.
"Miami landed a player in Reed that has a game-ready body and skills to produce baskets inside the arc," Paul Biancardi said. "There is not one way or one spot on the floor he can't score from and he is opportunistic in his approach. His size on the perimeter allows him to produce against elite talent and will be much needed in the powerful ACC.
"Yes he can score but he can also make the assist as he demonstrates good vision of the entire floor," Biancardi added. "Don't label him into any one position as he is a good guard. A program guy, Reed will be part of the equation for future success at Miami."
