Chris Washburn picks Miners

Power forward Chris Washburn (Grand Prairie, Texas/South Grand Prairie) ended his recruitment on Tuesday with a commitment to UTEP. The news was first reported by www.scout.com.

Washburn, whose older brother Julian is a freshman forward for the Miners, chose Tim Floyd's program over Texas A&M, Providence, TCU and Texas.

Floyd has announced two signees in his 2012 class, small forward Twymond Howard (Pearl, Miss./Pearl) and shooting guard Dustin Watts (Seattle, Wash./Stoneridge Prep) and is expected to receive four more letters of intent, including Washburn's. Power forward Anthony January (Compton, Calif./Taft), small forward Dwayne Benjamin (Lafayette, La./Northside) and small forward Mekale McKay (Louisville, Ky./Moore) are the other recruits.
