Michigan lands point guard for 2012

Michigan head coach John Beilein added a point guard to his incoming class on Friday with a verbal commitment from Spike Albrecht (Crown Point, Ind./Northfield Mt. Hermon). ESPN's Adam Finkelstein confirmed the news.

The commitment comes following Wolverines freshman guard Trey Burke's decision to explore the NBA draft and guard Carlton Brundidge's transfer. Albrecht also held an offer from Appalachian State.

He joins Beilein's 11th ranked class on ESPN's Recruiting Nation which features three top 100 prospects: Glenn Robinson (St. John, Ind./Lake Central H.S.), Mitch McGary (Chesterton, Ind./Brewster Academy) and Nik Stauskas (Mississauga, Ont./St. Mark's School).
