Earlier on Saturday ESPNU 100 shooting guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera ended his recruitment with a verbal commitment to Georgetown.
Smith-Rivera, ranked No. 45 among seniors, chose the Hoyas over Memphis, Florida, N.C. State and Louisville, among others. He had originally committed to Xavier as a junior.
"D'Vauntes is a powerful combo guard with a very good basketball I.Q.," ESPN.com's Reggie Rankin said. "He gets in the lane where he welcomes contact. He can score at the rim or with pull-up jumpers. He also has range to the arc and is a good passer and perimeter rebounder who will fit nicely into the Hoyas Princeton-style offense where skill and versatility make the offense tough to stop.
"DSR has a college ready body which will help him adjust quickly to the physical play of the Big East. Overall and excellent get for coach (John) Thompson and his staff.
The Indianapolis native who is spending his senior at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia joins power forward Brandon Bolden (Sumter, S.C.) in the Hoyas' 2012 class.
