The offers are starting to trickle in for linebacker Buddy Brown (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), who is one of the top players at his position in the Class of 2013.
Brown landed offers from Penn State and Virginia last week after previously receiving offers from Rutgers and West Virginia. Brown said he won't be surprised if his list of offers grows soon.
“I'm talking to a lot of schools right now,” Brown said. “Boston College and UConn are probably my next two. BC was at practice [Tuesday] to come and get my film, and I talk to UConn a lot. I'll probably go to UConn [for an unofficial visit] in the next two weeks. Oklahoma is the third school showing the most interest right now.”
Brown (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) said Penn State and Rutgers are recruiting him to play linebacker, but Virginia and West Virginia have both talked about moving him to safety. He plays outside linebacker and tight end in high school.
“Whatever position is the best fit for me,” he said.
Brown, who has 24 tackles and two sacks through four games this season, has taken unofficial visits to Penn State, West Virginia, Rutgers and South Carolina.
“All the schools that have offered stand out right now,” Brown said. “I have some work to do, but I probably won't start looking seriously at schools until the middle of December. Right now I just want to focus on the season.
“I'll probably take all five official visits [next season] before I make a decision. I want to see every school. I don't want to make a decision and then go back on it.”
