Auburn is the latest school to show interest in Boeing Brown.
The quarterback from Brookfield (Conn.) High School said he spoke with Auburn offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Scott Loeffler on Monday evening and the conversation was encouraging.
“He is awesome,” Brown stated in a Facebook message to ESPN. “Very, very interested in me, wants me to check in with him weekly, come see him ASAP and he is planning a trip up this way very soon.”
Brown has been invited to several camps, including South Carolina, Penn State, Michigan, Wake Forest and North Carolina State. Yet Auburn seems to have a distinct appeal.
“Auburn University. I am very excited,” Brown said. “(Loeffler's) note outright said he has seen my highlights. He has coached many great NFL quarterbacks and sees a lot in me and wants to work with me. I think that is great news and I am honored.”
Loeffler was just hired to head up the Tigers' offense. During stops at Florida and Michigan, he has coached six quarterbacks who went on to play in the NFL: Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, Brian Griese, Chad Henne, Drew Henson and John Navarre.
