Just about everyone on the planet expected ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive back Eli Woodard (Vorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) to make Ohio State his college destination, and that's exactly what he did Thursday afternoon.
Woodard, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior, announced via Twitter and Facebook that he has committed to Ohio State, a school he visited last weekend.
“After much prayer and consideration, I'm proud to commit as a student-athlete to The Ohio State University,” Woodard wrote.
Woodard also received scholarship offers from Alabama, California, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
Woodard is Ohio State's fourth commitment from the Class of 2013, joining defensive back Cameron Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison), athlete Jalin Marshall (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) and offensive tackle Billy Price (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch). Like Woodard, Burrows, Marshall and Price are ESPNU 150 Watch List players.
Woodard has been selected to participate in next year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
