Ousmane Camara doesn't have to be patient any longer.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound linebacker from Bay Shore (N.Y.) Senior High School picked up his first scholarship offer late Tuesday evening when Purdue extended an invite.
"I think Purdue is a very good school,” Camara said, “It has a good engineering program and I think that's what I want to do in the future.”
Camara cited a close relationship with defensive line coach Tim Tibesar as one thing he liked about the Boilermakers.
"He's a very cool guy,” Camara said.
Other schools also are in the mix and could offer Camara a scholarship soon.
"I'm being recruited by Ohio state, West Virginia, UConn, Temple, Deleware, James Madison, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland, Boston College, Stony brook Vanderbilt," he said.
Camara's next offer could come from Temple. He's scheduled to take a visit there this weekend.
