Neal on Clemson visit and future schedule

Lewis Neal was never lonely during his visit to Clemson.

“I felt so welcome when I went,” defensive end from Wilson (N.C.) James B. Hunt said. “They paid the visiting recruits a lot of attention.”

Neal toured the Tigers' campus alongside tailback Derrick Green from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage.

Neal's interest from colleges continues to grow. Tennessee has recently shown strong interest with first-year defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri leading the charge. Sunseri told Neal that the Vols would like to use him like Alabama did with Courtney Upshaw when Sunseri was coaching there, as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker. Neal is scheduled to visit Tennessee in May and Ohio State this weekend.

He also feels like he's close to an offer from the Crimson Tide.

“I know 'Bama is going to come soon,” he said.

Don't be surprised if Neal narrows his list and maybe even commits this summer. He said he wants to get the process done, but when asked what schools are rising to the top, he said, “It's so hard. I have ideas but I can't say right now.”
