Corey Clement (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) created waves last week when he said he was no longer solid on his Pitt commitment and planned on taking official visits. This past weekend, official visit No. 1 came for Clement.
The ESPN 300 running back took an official visit to Nebraska. Having spent the weekend there, Clement called the visit "fantastic all around," but it was not anything the football program has to offer that his him excited most about Nebraska.
"The life skills academic building was the most outstanding," Clement wrote in a text message.
So where does Nebraska sit following the visit?
"Nebraska ranks with a mutual interest among all the colleges I encounter until signing day gets closer," he wrote.
Clement, No. 194 in the ESPN 300 and No. 17 among running backs, will take two more official visits this month. Wisconsin will host him on Sept. 14 and he travels to Notre Dame the following weekend.
Last week, Clement was not sure if he would visit Notre Dame, because he did not feel he fits into Brian Kelly's offense well. He now is willing to visit the Fighting Irish and hear from the coaches firsthand how he would be used in the Irish's spread attack.
"I'll have to compare and contrast when I go on the visit to see how things turn out," he wrote.
Committed to Pitt since June, does Clement still consider himself a verbal to the Panthers?
"Yeah I do," he wrote.
