Jacquille Veii is no longer a Maryland commitment.
The running back from Rockville (Md.) Avalon announced his decision on his Facebook page Monday evening.
"During God's plan thought life , things that can't be explained often happen and theres reasons for all of these things," Veii wrote, "but how you deal with them is how you learn and build on them...with that said I'm de-committed from the university of Maryland and re-opening my recruitment."
The 5-foot-10, 173-pound Veii committed to Maryland in June over scholarship offers from Boston College, Iowa and some smaller schools. Since, others have come calling, such as Pittsburgh.
Veii is the second commitment that Maryland has lost this fall. The first was linebacker Yannick Ngakoue (Washington, D.C./Friendship Academy). Neither player offered reasons whey when asked by ESPN.
Maryland now has 16 commitments. The Terps started the season 4-2 but have since lost three in a row to drop to 4-5.
