Razhonn Gross (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco) has a walk-on offer from Rutgers, but he is determined to receive a full ride at a FBS school.
The 5-foot-11, 220 pound inside linebacker for defending high school national champion Don Bosco picked up a walk-on offer from Rutgers recently from Scarlet Knights assistant and former Bosco assistant Anthony Campanile.
“I have a really close relationship with him,” Gross said. “They’re all really good guys up there. I have former teammates up there -- Leonte Carroo, Darius Hamilton, Gary Nova. It’s a good environment over there, but we’ll see what happens.”
Gross is not much interested in walking on and believes he can land a scholarship at an FBS school. Old Dominion is the only FCS school courting him, but the Monarchs move to the FBS level in 2013.
Connecticut assistant George DeLeone has kept in contact with Gross, too.
“I camped up at UConn and Coach DeLeone likes me a lot. They’re busy with their season so we’re looking at after the season to see how things go,” Gross said.
Gross also camped at Temple.
Gross could also play fullback in college or potentially wrestle.
