Penn State is in a shaky position with tailback Wes Brown from Olney (Md.) Good Counsel.
The three-star tailback had once said he was down to Maryland, South Carolina, New Mexico, Colorado, Michigan and Penn State.
Now, there are concerns within Brown's family after a sex scandal with a former coach has forced the ouster of legendary coach Joe Paterno.
“We definetely have to consider the issues going on there as we evaluate schools for Wes,” Brown's father, Bernie Dancel, stated via text message to ESPN on Thursday. “Without knowing who the coaching staff will be and how they would intend to use Wes will have an impact.”
Dancel said the family will begin scheduling official visits in a couple of weeks. That could be bad for the Nittany Lions. As per NCAA rules, Brown only gets five official visits and he's down to six schools. Moreover, Penn State may not have a coach hired by then.
