With signing day rapidly approaching, ESPNU 150 quarterback T.J. Millweard (Fort Worth, Texas/All Saints Episcopal) has a lot to think about.
The four-star signal-caller switched his commitment from Virginia Tech to Arizona State in June, but since the commitment, the Sun Devils have had a coaching change, losing Dennis Erickson and gaining Todd Graham. Although he still is committed to Arizona State, it is more of a soft verbal, and he has been giving other schools the opportunity to deliver their pitches.
Millweard, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound, pro-style signal-caller, visited Arkansas last month. He will visit UCLA this weekend. Millweard has offers from all three aforementioned schools, as well as Kansas State and Virginia Tech, the school he originally committed to in February.
“It’s coming right down to the wire,” Millweard told ESPN’s Mitch Sherman on Thursday. “I don’t want to rush into this decision like I’ve been rushed into others in the past.”
Ranked No. 92 in the ESPNU 150, Millweard threw for 2,374 yards and 22 touchdowns this past season. He doubled his touchdowns from his junior season and also threw for nearly 700 more yards. Millweard said he would like to make a decision by next week.”
Millweard is ranked No. 6 among quarterbacks nationally. He also is ranked No. 13 among all players in Texas.
