Three-star running back Tim Wright (La Marque, Texas) has offers from high-major programs, but on Sunday, he said he is leaning toward strengthening himself -- physically and academically -- at the junior college level.
Wright said he is strongly considering signing with Navarro College (Corsicana, Texas). He has offers from Baylor, Missouri and Kansas State, and he’s been talking with Texas A&M, but he said the best route for him may be to start his college career at a two-year institution.
“I know it’s not bad to go juco first,” Wright said. “It gives you a chance to get better. Plus, I’m trying to get my grades better.”
Wright, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back, said he is going to visit Navarro this weekend. He rushed for 1,835 yards and 28 touchdowns for a La Marque team that advanced four rounds deep in the Texas Class 4A Division II playoffs. Wright is ranked No. 63 among running backs nationally.
