Will Barrow talks LSU junior day

2013 cornerback Will Barrow (Dallas/Skyline) watched 12 of his teammates sign a national letter of intent last Wednesday. He hopes to be next in line around this time next year.

Barrow had a chance to get a feel of college life at LSU over the weekend, as he visited the campus for its junior day. He said he enjoyed the overall experience, connecting with players from Louisiana and meeting coaches and members of the team who could one day become a part of his college football family.

“It was nice to get to know all the diverse people,” Barrow said. “The program’s nice, and I like the coaching style. I had a good time.”

Barrow said that listening to LSU coach Les Miles speak made him more and more interested in the Tigers. He said Miles is a good guy who also happens to be a solid motivator.

“Coach Miles really knows when to get work done and when to relax,” Barrow said. “Listening to him speak, he had to overcome a lot of adversity. The way the players talk, Coach Miles helped them all become a better man. I like that idea.”

A 5-foot-9, 171-pound junior with 4.52 speed in the 40-yard dash, Barrow is a solid deep-cover corner who also makes play in zone packages. He has excellent feet, and he is considered a vocal leader on an already-talented Skyline defensive unit. Barrow has no offers as of yet but is receiving correspondence from Iowa, Alabama, Texas Tech and Baylor. He attended Baylor's junior day last week and is planning on attending Texas Tech's junior day on Feb. 11.
