Will Barrow commits to Texas Tech

Texas Tech picked up its third commitment of the 2013 recruiting class Tuesday afternoon, as cornerback Will Barrow (Dallas/Skyline) gave the Red Raiders his verbal pledge, Skyline recruiting coordinator Jason R. Garrett said.

A 5-foot-9, 171-pound cover corner, Barrow chose Tech over interest from TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU and several other schools. He picked up the offer – his first – while attending Tech’s junior day last week. Barrow was recruited by Red Raiders secondary coach John Lovett and defensive line coach Robert Prunty.

"I feel great," Barrow said. "Committing is not just a temporary decision. It's passion and determination, and it means that I'm all in."

Barrow is a reliable back in both man-to-man and zone coverages. Considered a vocal leader, Barrow also lets his speed and athleticism talk for him. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, and he has good feet and hips.

Barrow joins fellow Texans in cornerback Tavares Garner (Manvel, Texas) and receiver Devin Lauderdale (Houston/Bellaire) in Tech’s 2013 recruiting class.
