Versatile athlete Akeem Harrison (Killeen, Texas) is the type of player who can line up at several different spots and be successful. He was a second-team, all-district tight end as a junior, but he is projected in college to be either a wide receiver or an outside linebacker, depending on the program.
Harrison doesn’t really care where he plays in college. All that matters is that he’s on a college roster by 2013.
“There are no offers yet, but it’s very close,” Harrison said. “I’m hearing from Texas Tech, LSU, Oregon and Texas A&M.”
Harrison, 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, said LSU and Texas A&M currently are on the top of his personal list, but he said Texas Tech may be the closest school when it comes to offering. He said he will be in attendance for Texas Tech’s spring game on March 24.
“I like their style of offense,” Harrison said of the Red Raiders. “It’s very uptempo, and they throw the ball a lot.”
