Hogs, TCU among schools interested in Chevis

Amidst all the commotion involved with Arkansas, former coach Bobby Petrino and losing its two 2013 commitments, life must go on for the Razorbacks. Several prospects are still very interested in Arkansas, and linebacker Reggie Chevis (Houston/Sharpstown) is one of them.

Chevis recently picked up an offer from Arkansas and TCU, and the 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker continued to inch closer and closer to 20 offers. Offensive line coach Chris Klenakis is recruiting Chevis to play at Arkansas, while linebackers coach Tony Tademy is recruiting Chevis to play at TCU.

The Horned Frogs offer was the latest, as he picked that one up on Friday. Chevis, who recently was invited to play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in January (he hasn’t accepted the invite as of yet), recorded 102 tackles and 12 sacks for Sharpstown during the 2011 season.

Along with Arkansas and TCU, Chevis has offers from LSU, West Virginia, Washington State, Texas A&M, Boise State and others. He said while the offers are continuing to pile up, he is still wide open with his recruiting process.
