OL Chance Allen chooses Kansas State

Offensive lineman Chance Allen (Spring, Texas/Klein Collins) confirmed via text message on Monday that he has verbally committed to play for Kansas State.

Allen, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound tackle/guard hybrid, made the trip to Manhattan, Kan., over the weekend and announced his commitment after watching Kansas State’s annual spring game. Projected to play guard in college, Allen became the first offensive lineman and the fourth commit overall of the Wildcats’ 2013 class.

Allen chose the Wildcats over offers from Kansas and Lamar. He also had interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Michigan State. An all-district, honorable-mention selection, Allen helped his team finish 8-3 and advance to the Texas Class 5A Division I playoffs.
