With one tweet, the race to acquire Under Armour All-American wide receiver Ra’Shaad Samples (Dallas/Skyline) has reached a new level.
Samples tweeted on Thursday that he has narrowed his 33 offers to six schools – Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and USC. He added in the tweet that the list is in no specific order of importance.
"It was pretty hard narrowing down the schools, but I didn’t want to force anything," Samples said. "In the end, I felt like these are the best six choices for me out of all them."
Samples, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver, is still recovering from a fractured left fibula that’s sidelined him since the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp in March. At the time of the injury, he was expected to miss up to four months. Samples, however, is expecting to come back in time to accept his invitation to compete in The Opening, which will take place July 5-8 in Beaverton, Ore.
Additionally, Samples has been invited to compete in the Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 championships at the end of July.
