Three-star tight end Christian Morgan (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian) has narrowed his list of schools to four.
Morgan, who has 19 offers, announced via Twitter on Thursday, and later confirmed with ESPN, that he will choose among Arkansas, Baylor, Ole Miss and Florida State. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end has additional offers from Arizona, Missouri, Cal, Washington, Miami (Fla.) and a host of other schools.
“For the most part, it was just a comfort level,” Morgan said. “The football is great at all those places, and I feel like I can be successful at all four of them.
“It was all about being able to see myself there and being successful at all four of those schools. It was a little tough, but I wanted to make sure I took my time and make the right decision.”
Morgan said he doesn’t have a set date for when he wants to announce his final decision, but he’s looking to commit before the start of his senior season. Morgan will make a visit to Florida State – the last of the four schools not to receive a visit – next week.
“I’d like to do it quickly,” Morgan said of committing, “but I’m not going to rush anything. You can’t rush a decision like this.”
Morgan, considered more of a blocking tight end, caught 13 passes for 191 yards for Prestonwood Christian in 2011. He is ranked No. 11 among tight ends nationally and No. 71 among all players in Texas.
