Add Oklahoma State to the list of schools that have recently contacted offensive guard Ryan Messer (Fort Worth, Texas/Nolan Catholic). Give partial credit for the new communication to Messer’s updated highlight reel.
Messer said he has heard most recently from Oklahoma State, Houston, TCU and New Mexico. An offer from Houston and New Mexico could come within days, and he’s hoping offers from the other schools follow shortly afterward.
“I think a lot of it is from this summer,” Messer said of the rise in interest. “I hadn’t really sent anything to those colleges at first. When they got my film, they contacted me pretty quickly.
“I’m expecting Houston to offer pretty soon. Houston’s kind of been one of the schools there from the start. They’ve invited me down for a game, but I haven’t picked which one yet. New Mexico came to my school the other day, and their offensive line coach signed off for me for an offer. I’m just waiting on the head coach to sign off on that.”
Messer, a 6-foot-3, 268-pound senior, is being recruited as an interior lineman, as he can play both guard and center. He has offers from Navy and Air Force.
