Oklahoma State commit Marcell Ateman (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East) has visited Stillwater, Okla., on an unofficial visit, but he has yet to attend an actual Cowboys football game. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound, ESPN 300 receiver was hoping Saturday would have been that opportunity to see the Cowboys in action, but unexpected car trouble put a glitch in his plans.
Ateman now has circled Oct. 20 on his calendar for his first-game experience, as Oklahoma State hosts Iowa State. Until then, he’ll go off what he hears from roster players, fellow 2013 commits and others who talk about the experience via social media.
“I heard it’s amazing,” Ateman said. “Oklahoma State’s got a lot of tradition. They revolve everything around Stillwater. It’s a great atmosphere and a great place to play. I can’t wait to get up there and check everything out. I really want to see how the players are before the game and how they prepare themselves.
Ateman, a four-star receiver, is ranked No. 245 in the ESPN 300. He is No. 38 nationally among receivers and No. 32 in the state of Texas. Through four games, Ateman leads Wylie East with 29 catches for 548 yards and six touchdowns. Ateman committed to Oklahoma State in May.
