2014 Gyasi Akem enjoys TAMU-LSU

In his first trip to College Station, Texas, 2014 outside linebacker Gyasi Akem (Broken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow) left satisfied and very impressed with both Texas A&M and LSU.

The Aggies invited him to the game, and he enjoyed being a part of the 87,429 screaming fans at Kyle Field. Akem complemented Texas A&M for its rowdy environment and for having a fan base that refused to give up on its team.

“I was very impressed,” said Akem, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker. “I thought it was exciting with all those fans and that it would be a great place to go to school.”

While the Aggies have shown interest, Akem has yet to hear from LSU. However, Akem said he was impressed with how the Tigers bounced back from an early deficit. He added that he would consider visiting Baton Rouge, La., if LSU extended the invitation.

“I thought that it was a well-played game by both teams, just too many mistakes on A&M’s side,” Akem said. “I have never visited LSU, and it is early in my decision-making process. That would be fun, but I haven’t been asked.”

Akem has been offered by Arkansas State and has interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Missouri and Houston, in addition to Texas A&M.
