Two schools have emerged as front-runners for three-star cornerback Chad Davis (Richmond, Texas/Bush).
Davis said Sunday that North Texas and Tulsa are in the lead for his services, and he’s looking to take official visits to both schools in January. Davis, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback, said he will visit North Texas on Jan. 18 and is tentatively scheduled to visit Tulsa the week after.
“Right now, those are my top two,” Davis said. “I like UNT because of the opportunity that they’ll give me early. They’re not promising me anything, but they said they give me an opportunity to play early, and it’d be mine to lose.
“With Tulsa, I like the school. I took a visit there over the summer, and I liked it. I like the coaches and the facilities. I have a former teammate, [freshman] Michael Mudoh, and he talked to me about it.”
Davis has additional offers from Texas Tech, UTSA, Texas State, UTEP, San Jose State and Utah State. Texas Tech and UTSA are still in the mix.
“Wherever I go,” Davis said, “I hope that it will make me become a better player, better man.”
