Three-star cornerback Sean Draper (Cleveland/Glenville) is ready to cut down his list.
Draper has made four official visits already and will take his last this weekend to most likely Kansas but could visit Illinois, too. He has visited Hawaii, Iowa, Louisville and Pittsburgh since December.
“I actually have to start eliminating schools -- at least two right now,” Draper said. “It’s getting closer [to signing day] and it’ll get harder picking from four or five teams at the end.”
Kansas began showing interest when Charlie Weis was named coach last month. Weis is the one who offered Draper, but it is new Jayhawks defensive coordinator and secondary coach that Draper has really built a solid bond with.
“He didn’t come in like most other coaches who usually just got hired by trying to describe the school off of a paper,” Draper said. “He came in and said ‘I’ve only been here five days but this is what I can do for your son.’ He impressed my mother with the fact he wants to finish off his career making Kansas a dynasty.”
Draper officially visited Pitt this past weekend and enjoyed meeting with the new staff.
“They mentioned I can do corner, nickel and maybe some punt return. They were saying that for next [season],” Draper said. “I can get the first shot against the No. 2 corner to beat him out for a spot.”
A decision will likely come on signing day.
