The weekend of Notre Dame's win over Michigan State helped the Fighting Irish pick up three commitments. Junior offensive tackle Steve Elmer and senior receiver Chris Brown committed that weekend, and it was that game that sealed the deal for four-star running back William Mahone.
Joe Brown, the father of Chris Brown, isn't ready to let his son go to South Bend, Ind., just yet, though. Brown told GoUpstate.com, a Gamecocks radio network, that he prefers his son stays in state and goes to South Carolina. Chris Brown is a three-star receiver from Hanahan, S.C.
“It depends on where South Carolina is as to whether I try to shake up Chris’ mind or accept his decision,” Joe Brown told the network.
Parents often play a key role in a prospect's decision, so it will be interesting to see how Chris handles his father's position.
