Howard could earn OSU offer June 10

Linebacker is a position Ohio State will have to address with two decommitments recently, and Darrien Howard (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade Julienne) hopes it has the opened the door for an offer.

Howard has 10 total offers, but the in-state Buckeyes have yet to extend an offer to the four-star inside linebacker, ranked No. 7 at his position nationally. He has already visited a few times, but he believes his next visit will determine whether he receives an offer.

“My judgment day will be June 10 whether they want to offer me or not,” Howard said, referring to Ohio State’s camp.

Despite feeling an offer will come down to his performance in a few weeks, the 12th-ranked prospect in Ohio said he is not putting any extra pressure on himself.

“I don’t want my nerves to get in the way,” he said, “so I’m going to relax and put a smile on my face because I know what I can do.”

Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh and West Virginia have all received visits from Howard, and he said he liked each visit. He went on to say that no teams are standing out at the moment, though.

In addition to Ohio State, he plans to camp at Kentucky, Tennessee and possibly Alabama.
