ANGOLA, Ind. – The offers from MAC programs continue to roll in for Isaac Griffith (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead), but he has his eyes set on the Big Ten.
The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver will camp at four programs this summer, and they all reside in the Big Ten. Griffith will compete in camps at Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue.
Griffith said Indiana and Northwestern are showing him the most interest of those four. The Indiana staff just wants to see him compete in front of its eyes, but Northwestern is waiting to see where he stands academically, too.
“They’re waiting for my transcripts to go through,” Griffith said. “That’s all they're waiting for – to see if I can get in or not.”
The Wildcats are impressed with everything they have seen on the field.
“I can move, run good routes, got body control and all that stuff.”
Last week, Griffith added three new offers from MAC programs. Kent State, Miami (Ohio) and Ohio all offered. Here’s what he had to say about each program:
Kent State: “They started recruiting me not too long ago, and I talked it over with Coach [Darrell] Hazell. Coach [Brian] Rock came in (May 30) and offered me. They said they’re really excited about me and want me to go to Kent State.
Miami (Ohio): “I got a call from Coach [Mike] Bath and got to talk to Coach [Don] Treadwell. He said they’re probably one of the slowest to throw an offer because they started me recruiting me in late December and lost contact. They were reevaluating and taking things slow. When they were offering they wanted to make sure it was the right thing to do, and they said it was the right thing to do.”
Ohio: “They really came out of the blue. I knew they were interested but didn’t have any contact with them. They offered me and said they were ready for me to come down and look at the campus and get to know them a little bit better.”
