Hoosiers land first 2013 commit

Indiana is not racking up the early summer commitments like it did a year ago, but the Hoosiers broke through Monday with their first verbal commitment in the 2013 class.

Receiver Isaac Griffith (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) committed to Indiana a day after receiving an offer from the school, his dad, Shannon, said. Griffith camped at Indiana on Sunday. The Hoosiers were his first BCS offer.

The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver also had offers from Ball State, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Toledo and Wyoming. He also planned camping at Illinois, Northwestern and Purdue.

Shannon Griffith played and coached at Ball State.

Isaac recorded 60 catches for 1,112 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior.
