Elijah Zeise (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) has plenty on his plate right now as the Tigers continue to carry on a tradition of excellence.
But as things sit, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety has a pretty good understanding of where things fit in his recruiting world.
He took in last week’s Virginia Tech-Pitt game at Heinz Field and is very learned on what schools have to offer him.
To date, Pitt is the only squad to offer, but he’s got interest from Maryland, Rutgers and West Virginia and is interested in Penn State as well.
For now, it’s a race between Pitt and West Virginia. Here’s what he had to say about each:
Pitt: “I’ve lived here all my life, so it’s sort of just always stuck out to me.”
West Virginia: “I went down there and had a really good time. Their facilities are real nice.”
That doesn’t mean Zeise, who describes himself as an athletic, hard-working safety, is by any means ready to leave things a two-school race.
He has plans to go to a few Penn State games and is in no hurry to make a decision.
As a sophomore, Zeise made 42 tackles and had one interception.
