For Travis Tarnowski (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton), it’s a matter of choosing between Brown and Kent State as of right now.
Both have interest in the 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback, but that could change quickly for Tarnowski, who is lighting it up for 5-0 North Royalton.
“I went to Brown over the summer for a three-day camp,” Tarnowski said. “The campus is really nice.
‘It’s more a small-town type thing. Providence is here, you walk up a hill and the campus is right there. The coaching staff is good there. I like them.”
He also likes the Golden Flashes, who are but a 45-minute drive away from North Royalton.
Kent State started showing interest this season and Tarnowski has done little to wane the Flashes’ curiosity. Especially after he went 18-of-31 for 318 yards with six passing touchdowns and added 66 yards rushing and a score in a 62-55 win over Elyria.
“Kent State has really come on right now,” Tarnowski said. “They want me to send them film. I’m going to their place for the Akron game [on Nov. 3]. I’m going to let the season play out hopefully more interests come up.”
Tarnowski certainly has the attention of those in Northeast Ohio with 1,168 yards passing, 328 yards rushing and 25 total touchdowns
He’s hoping that start turns into offers soon.
“I bring intelligence,” he said. “I’m a coachable kid. I can read defenses quick and pick up on new offenses. I think I bring a lot to the table.”
