Eastern Michigan was always at the top for Detroit Cass Tech cornerback DaQuan Pace. So when the Eagles offered a little more than a week ago, it made for an easy decision.
On Monday, Pace committed to Eastern Michigan. He had interest from several MAC programs and visited Bowling Green and Toledo earlier this season.
“Of all the schools I really liked, Eastern was the best one and they gave me an offer and I always had them above everyone else,” Pace said. “It was just the place for me.”
The 5-foot-9, 155-pound cornerback made a visit to Eastern Michigan two weekends ago and had the full attention of the Eagles’ staff.
“I went up there a few times and they showed a lot of love. Every time I came up I had a real good time,” he said. “I talked it over with my family and felt like it was the right decision.”
Pace will try to make an unofficial visit in a few weeks and then his official visit in December. He said as of now he will not visit anywhere else.
