Junior offensive guard Kirk Barron (Mishawaka, Ind./Marian) made a visit this weekend to Wisconsin, and the Badgers coaches might reciprocate with a visit to see Barron next weekend.
Barron said the Wisconsin coaches are highly interested in offering and could come to watch his playoff game Friday.
“They wanted to talk after the game so I was excited,” Barron said. “He was saying since it’s their bye week he would come up to Marian this week. He said he might stop by the game Friday night.”
Before the game, Barron and his father got a feel for the town of Madison and not just the football program. Barron walked around the city and saw a lot of what the area has to offer.
He then headed over to the football facilities and met with the coaches and ate with the other recruits.
The atmosphere and the way Wisconsin played despite the loss impressed Barron.
“The jump around at the fourth quarter, that was cool,” he said. “The student section gets into it. It’s always loud. There weren’t any seats open, and I thought the game was great. The offensive line played good.”
Barron will visit Cincinnati next and will also check out Kansas, TCU and possibly Purdue soon.
“I’m looking forward to seeing [Cincinnati] compete out there,” Barron said. “I watched the Louisville game and thought they were going to win the game. I’m excited to meet the coaches. They’ve been sending a lot of mail so I’m excited to talk with them.”
