Junior college quarterback Cody Kater signed his letter of intent with Central Michigan on Wednesday, according to a release by the school’s athletic department.
"We are excited to have Cody in our program," Chippewas coach Dan Enos said in the statement. "He is an outstanding player and person who will have a chance to compete immediately and will provide depth at our quarterback position."
Kater originally was a longtime Chippewas verbal commitment before signing with Cincinnati out of high school in 2010. He transferred to Grand Rapids Community College after his freshman season at Cincinnati.
In 10 games this season, Kater completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 2,218 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Kater committed to Central Michigan in late November and will enroll in January.
